Jono: You want to put your partner's needs 
before your own, but not instead of your own.

Jasmine: I knew it. 
Why did you lie to me?

Jono: People who are worth being with, 
respond to real.

Prince Charming: But why?
Cinderella: Well, I... I...

Jono: He doesn't change for her. 
He doesn't change to impress her or to win her over.

He changes because he's influenced by her.

Snow White: There's nobody like him, 
anywhere at all.

You don't know anything about the guy 
other than he has pearly whites.

I am Alan Seawright, 
professional filmmaker who needs therapy, 
and that is...

Jono: Jonathan Decker, 
licensed therapist who loves love and movies.

Today, Jonathan, 
I'm going to have you... rank things.

Alan: We're going to have you 
rank some Disney animated relationships.

This is kind of a random sampling 
that the producers and I came up with.

Jono: Well, like the romantic relationships?

Alan: The romantic relationships, 
not the... Yeah.

and Snow White and Prince Florian. 
Did you know his name was Prince Florian?

Alan: Yeah. I thought everyone was Prince Charming 
for like the first 12 movies. But no, apparently Florian.

Jono: Sounds like the son of a dentist for some reason. 
Like a fluoride connection. Like, I don't know, I don't know.

Alan: Prince Florian keeps your teeth white 
and your mouth healthy.

Jono: You know, well, she's been asleep for a while, 
so halitosis is going to be an issue.

So I'm going to take these relationships 
and I'm going to rank them from...

Jono: Worst to best. Ok.
Alan: Let's start with the worst one.

Jono: Well, from what you gave me, 
I would start with Snow White and Prince Florian.

Anyone could see 
that the Prince was charming.

Snow White: There's nobody like him 
anywhere at all.

Snow White: ♬♬ He was so romantic, 
I could not resist ♬♬

Jono: ♬♬ For the one I love to find me ♬♬

Alan: I didn't know anyone could do that.

Jono: Originally, she's singing to herself,

and he just kind of, like, 
sidles up silently and shocks her.
Alan: Right

Jono: And she's... So she's terrified. 
And then she flees, but she's also kind of excited.

Jono: And so he's like, well, you ran away,
 but I'm just going to start singing to you.

And then she's like, points her head out, 
like, Ooh, what is this?

I guarantee you, 
this doesn't work in real life.

Alan: I have randomly sung to women before.

It never goes well. 
You witnessed a couple of those.
Jono: Yeah.

Alan: In college, 
remember when I would do the Top Gun thing?

I remember I was doing it ironically, 
we never thought that was gonna work.

Alan: We never thought it was going to work.

Bashful: So yeah, he sings her love song, 
so it must be true love. They meet once.

Jono: And even then, 
they don't even conversate.

Jono: She sings to herself. He startles her. 
He sings to her. And then they're done.
Alan: Uh huh.

Jono: Snow White, 
you are experiencing a chemical rush.

That is probably a combination 
of responding to his pheromones

and being physically attracted to him.
Alan: Sure.

Jono: And the adrenaline of absolute terror.

And so those things combined can be kind of potent, 
doesn't mean it's love.

But the big thing here is consent is key. 
So, she eats the poisoned apple. She gets knocked out.
Alan: Knocked out.

Jono: And then he sees her and he's like, 
I should totally kiss that.

If you're watching the movie, 
you have context for what happened to her.

If you're Prince Florian, correct me if I'm wrong, 
he doesn't have context, right?

He just sees, Hey, that's that hot girl 
I sang to that one time. I'mma smooch that.

Jono: He just stumbles across across her.
And she's unconscious.

Alan: Like he doesn't know she's been poisoned.
Jono: And he's like, Now's my window.

Alan: He doesn't know that 
this is going to save her life.

He doesn't know it's going to 
resurrect her from the dead. Right? Am I wrong?

Jono: I haven't watched this in a minute either.
