21世紀，民族的界線逐漸消失，英語，成為萬國間的通用語言，若不熟悉英語，等同自斷與全球億萬人們的連結。不過現今的台灣，在英語教育方面卻出現了嚴重的問題。

　　我們學習英語十多年，從基測、會考、學測、統測、多益…一步步走來，老師嚴格要求我們的聽力及閱讀，但當要開口說時，他們只鼓勵我們：「敢說就好，講得差沒關係。」這句「鼓勵」彷彿給全台學生設下一道衝不破的禁制，不只限縮了台灣人英語表達的實力，同時也阻斷了台灣對世界的溝通能力。

　　此次演講，史嘉琳教授將引領我們以「回音法」突破這層迷障，將我們帶回語言學習的正確航道上，讓我們重新與世界連結。 來自美國明尼蘇達州，現為台大外文系教授。在台灣教學多年，有豐富的教學經驗，對於台灣的教育問題要有自己獨到的見解。獨創的「回音法」是根據多年的教學經驗所設計，並且在運用於教學後，獲得大量學生的好評。 This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
