Guitar Teacher REACTS: Robin Trower "Too Rolling Stoned" 1980

Documentary, following Sandy Denny's way too short musical odyssey, from her earliest days in the folk scene, her work with Strawbs, Trever Lucus, her reinventing Fairport Convention and their unique contributions, to Fotheringay, and her solo work. Overwhelmingly a talking head documentary, with music writers Patrick Humphries, Colin Irwin, and Nigel Williamson, as well as Fairport bandmates Dave Mattacks, David Swarbrick, and Gerry Conway, but with Richard Thompson sadly, mysteriously completely absent. John Renborn is also interviewed. NOTE: There are only very very brief inclusions of actual music performances.

"OK, this isn't the 
run-of-the-mill way to make a movie."

I remember I was running
straight towards the stuntsmen,

I ran into Troy, who had
been training me kickboxing.

And he was like, "You just
did your first running away

I ran away from explosions
and I didn't once go,

- Do you think that if
there was a big explosion,

and be like, "Oh my god, is anyone hurt?"

We're like, "Screw
that, we're outta here."

Finally, we have the 'Black Widow' movie.

did you look around at your
'Avengers' friends and say,

right around the time that
'Avengers' was coming out.

I never think anything's
ever gonna get made

'til I'm like eating
craft service on the set.

"Wait, we're gonna come
back tomorrow, right?"

you know, I was happy to
continue to peel away the layers

in all of those collaborative
films with everybody.

You know, this wasn't, like,
a given to make this movie.

It was one that we made
because we wanted to,

like, how did that help
this film in a way?

I mean, I guess one evidence is that lady

that's in the other
Zoom box on the screen,

I didn't have the same
perspective of 10 years of time,

And, you know, this film had
many different iterations.

Again, it wasn't a story that
we were obligated to tell

You know, Yelena and
Natasha are adversaries

you know, that whatever spy,
kind of, espionage version it was.

And then there was, you
know, another version

that I had developed that
was really existential,

"I don't think I can come
in to work for this."

- I'm a little intrigued by
that one, I'll be honest.
