If you know how to suffer, you suffer much less.

In the first part of the talk, Thay explains how to make good use of suffering, learning the art of suffering in order to create understanding, compassion, love and happiness. It is like the mud and the lotus flower, a good gardener knows how to make good use of the mud. In other words, rather than running away from suffering, learning to be in touch with it, embrace it and look directly into it; this has the power to heal. The cessation of suffering is in suffering itself. Having the capacity of listening to our own suffering, understanding it, then we suffer less. 

Thay explains the chant of Namo Avalokiteshvara.

The second part of the talk starts at 1:13:00.
In the second part of the talk, Thay explains how to invite to the bell of mindfulness, a practice that brings peace and happiness right away. It reminds you to live deeply every moment, in the here and in the now. You listen to the bell and enjoy, because the energy of mindfulness penetrate your body, your cells, and you are established in the present moment.

Also, walking mindfully is an easy way to live deeply every moment. Walking quickly is a habit that was transmitted by our ancestors. When you run, you miss the now. Walking mindfully heals you, nourishes you. You are solid, you arrive at every step. If everybody do the same, the collective energy is powerful and brings peace. Breathing in and breathing out mindfully, you enjoy walking and you arrive home, in the here, in the now.

In the 13 years since Super Size Me, the fast-food industry has undergone a makeover. Today, chain restaurants tout food that's "healthy," "organic," and "natural." Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock explores this new reality with an approach even more immersive and subversive than that used for his first film: he sets out to open his own chicken franchise. We follow him every step of the way, from raising poultry and conjuring recipes to designing the brand and scouting a location. Spurlock brings his disarming humor to uncover the truths and lies behind this multibillion-dollar industry.Navigating a world of cynics and opportunists, Spurlock comes across like a hillbilly Jimmy Stewart with refreshing optimism. He confronts one challenge after another in his mission to live up to his ideals. The film feels especially timely when the US has a junk-food-loving President and an epidemic of false claims in advertising. Spurlock pays close attention to the Orwellian buzzwords that marketers use to bring a "health halo" to industrial food. While the original Super Size Me made a specific example of McDonald's, this compelling sequel focuses on new targets and doesn't hold back on naming names. The film builds momentum towards the day when Spurlock puts his reputation on the line by serving his first customers.

Six tales that evoke a higher perspective, a road less traveled, a never-ending winter frozen in time. Where the rivers roar
towards surging oceans.

And ancient giants bathe
in frozen crystals.

I think back over what
it means to live here.

I'm not talking about
the towns and highways

isn't simply a geographical
sliver of the Pacific Northwest.

not one that's just made up
of volcanoes and watersheds,

- The most fun I've had
on skis in two years.

- We're hopping on the
hype train and going home.

- We got a sick storytime here with Jordy.

What kind of rocks do you figure is here?

would call this lot cultured.

- [Sean] Well, it's our last
morning in Meadow Lodge,

- [Nick] I didn't see you clean anything.

there isn't anything I
wouldn't do for them.

I think it's going to come

to start freaking out,

- [Narrator] Okay, some
more passionate than others.

A little bit different than
the old coastal mountains.

Look at how happy they
are out there together,

they've been holding hands
for the last few weeks.
